The Top 5 Types of Dreams
1.Recurring Dreams:
Having a recurring dream is like experiencing déjà-vu where the dreamer gets the sensation of having experienced elements of the dream already, sometimes with precognition of what will happen in the dream. Some people have recurring dreams on a nightly basis while others may experience a particular dream once and then again months or even years later. In some cases, you may not even realize it when you are having a recurring dream, particularly if you have difficulty remembering your dreams as it is. In addition, the recurring dreams your experience might differ somewhat; the events, people, and places you experience can be slightly modified from dream to dream. Whatever the case, if you’re having a particular dream over and over, your mind is trying to tell you something. When you recognize the message your subconscious mind is sending you, you’ll free yourself from the dream.
2. Ominous Dreams:
At some point or another, everyone experiences a dream that is highly traumatic or emotionally distressing. Sometimes this might take the form of a natural disaster such as a flood or a fire, while other times you might experience the unexpected death of a loved one or friend within your dreams. You needn’t worry when you have a dream that leaves you feeling emotionally rattled, as the doom and gloom you experience isn’t going to come true. However, you should realize that your dream does have a message for you. Usually an ominous dream serves as a reminder that a change is about to come.
3. Predictive Dreams:
Until you’re in tune with your psychic abilities, you won’t realize it when you are having a predictive dream. Nonetheless, you can have them and then realize later, when the dream comes true in real life. Essentially, predictive dreams are an expression of your own innate extra sensory perception (ESP) and psychic ability, even if you aren’t aware that you have these capabilities. The meaning of a strange predictive dream is illuminated when you actually experience something similar in your waking life.
4. Lucid Dreams:
In most cases you have little to no awareness that you are dreaming. Indeed, most of the time you dream without knowing you are dreaming. When you have a lucid dream, you ‘wake up’ within your dream, with the realization that what you are experiencing isn’t real. Lucid dreaming can occur spontaneously, but you can also learn to induce this phenomenon independently. When you train yourself to do so you can find solutions to problems and answers to questions, by seeking out this information in the dream world. Through the power of your lucid dreams you can illuminate different aspects of your life.
5. Gratifying Dreams:
You can recognize if you’ve had a gratifying dream when you wake up and wish you were still dreaming. Through your brain’s reward circuits, these dreams can play into exactly what you want to happen, and the pleasurable feeling you experience when you are satisfied, even in a dream, is enough to make you want to stay in the dream. Unfortunately, although these wish-fulfillment dreams can be nice in the moment, they often leave the dreamer more cognizant of whatever he or she might be missing out on in real life.
Understanding your dreams serves as the gateway to greater self-knowledge and intuitive awareness. When you make the effort to educate yourself and learn more about the messages your mind is sending you within a dream, you put yourself in a greater position to get in tune with and experience expanded cosmic awareness.
